Café and croissants, fish market and film festival, street theatre and “Saarvoir vivre” – nowhere else in Germany is one closer to the proverbial ideal of “living like God in France” than in Saarland. The small federal state on the border to France is also attracting attention as an economic region: IT clusters have replaced coal and steel, and growth rates are above average.
