Click on the link "Direct to online accreditation". Enter your name as well as an e-mail address. When you send off your data a password will automatically be sent to your e-mail address. With your password you will be able to access the online accreditation form.
The accreditation form only has to be filled out once. Please give your personal details, your passport or personal ID card number, as well as the media company you are working for. As soon as your data has been received by the German Press Office you will be sent a confirmation by e-mail. The Press Office will also send you a confirmation of accreditation by E-Mail. You can use your password to make changes in your personal data.
Journalists who have a press ID from the German Journalists Association, dju/ver.di, the National Association of German Newspaper Publishers, or the Association of German Newspaper Publishers should enter their ID number in the appropriate field on the form.
All other journalists should upload an accreditation document from the media company they work for showing that they have been assigned to cover the EU Presidency. The document can be sent in pdf or jpg format.
You can upload a current color photo of yourself in passport format (height:width = 4:3). The photo must not be more than two years old. Please upload the image file in jpg format (maximum 100 kb).
Your data will be verified to make sure it is correct and it will also be checked by German security authorities. It goes without saying that your personal data will be considered confidential.
Your accreditation ID will be issued to you on presentation of the confirmation of accreditation that was sent to you as well as a valid press ID or an original accreditation document from the media outlet you are working for. In addition you must present a valid picture ID (personal ID card or passport).
Accreditation IDs will be issued in Bonn and Berlin. The addresses are given under the heading Accreditation Bureaus
Important: Access to press centers and media events will be granted only to holders of an accreditation ID. Accreditation IDs are not transferable and must be kept visible at all times during events. You must also be carrying an official picture ID. If you lose your accreditation ID you should report this to the accreditation desk immediately.
From the accreditation form you will automatically access a list of events that are scheduled to place in Germany. Click on the desired event to register.
The registration period begins eight weeks before the date of the event. You will be notified of this by e-mail.
Select the desired date and click on the link "Register online". The current status will be displayed in the "Registration" field.
