On the occasion of the Informal Meeting of EU Foreign Affairs Ministers in Bremen (30 – 31 March), 54 children from all 27 EU Member States will gather there to take part in a week-long workshop entitled "Europa Kinderland" (Europe, Land of Children).
At the invitation of Federal Foreign Minister Steinmeier the 9 – 10-year-old children will discover Europe for themselves in a joint project: The starting point is the song entitled "Kleine Europäer / Europa Kinderland" (Little Europeans / Europe, Land of Children). They will jointly prepare for a musical performance together with the author of the song, Rolf Zuckowski, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen (German Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Bremen), as well as experienced educational carers from the cultural-exchange organization Experiment e.V. and professional choreographers.
On the evening of 30 March the EU foreign ministers will witness the première of this work in the festival hall of the Bremer Bürgerschaft (Bremen city hall and parliament). On 31 March the piece will be performed publicly as part of a matinee concert organized in cooperation with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
