On 24 and 25 March, celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome will take place in Berlin. As well as holding an informal Summit of the Heads of State and Government, the Federal Government is also inviting people to a grand Festival of Europe.
At the initiative of Federal Foreign Minister Steinmeier, not only will the Berlin museums open their doors, but the city's clubs will also participate in a European Club Night beginning late on Saturday evening. Berliners and their European guests will be able to celebrate in 35 of the capital's clubs. In cooperation with the embassies of all the EU countries, 100 DJs, 30 bands and numerous live projects from all the EU Member States will feature on this trip through the European music scene. All partygoers will pay a one-off price of 12 euro, which will give them free admission to all participating clubs, all night long.
You can find a list of all participating clubs at www.clubcommission.de.
The European Club Night will be introduced tomorrow (16 March) by Federal Foreign Minister Steinmeier and representatives of the Club Commission Berlin.
They will include Olaf "Gemse" Kretschmar, Press Spokesman of the Club Commission Berlin, as well as Simone Hofmann, Markus Ossevorth, Simone Helmboldt and Sascha Disselkamp (all members of the Club Commission Berlin Board of Directors).
