The President of the European Council, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, will travel to Ljubljana on 15 January 2007 to participate in the celebration "A Welcome to the Euro" organized by the Slovene Government to mark the introduction of the euro.
In her capacity as current President of the EU Council, the Federal Chancellor will open the event at 5.00 p.m.
